This doll took me forever to do, both because it was so large and because the context was difficult. I saw this base and knew i just had to do something with it, so here's what happened. I'm still not completely happy with it however, a lot of my styles have changed since i started, and I almost want to start it from scratch(which i just might do). Also, the marks on his arms look like bruises, not dirt. sad. I like the coloring of the mermaid the best probably, and that definantly wasn't easy.

Great pose! I like the fishy texture you've added to her upper body...the fins, too. If you're considering redoing it, it would look pretty cool to see her webbed right hand caressing the side of his face!
